States of Consciusness

States of Consciousness explores transformation through the symbolic language of the blue lotus and Brugmansia, two plants associated with renewal, introspection, and self-discovery. Rather than depicting them botanically, I use them as metaphors for complementary experiences of inner transformation: one rooted in clarity and the fluid rhythms of water, the other in mystery and the exploration of the unknown. Created in mixed media using pencil, ink, technical pens, watercolor, gouache, and acrylic, these paintings evolved through an intuitive dialogue between drawing and painting. Together, they reflect on the interconnectedness of humanity and nature, suggesting that transformation unfolds through both light and uncertainty. Blue Lotus explores transformation through the symbolic presence of the blue lotus, a flower traditionally associated with renewal, clarity, and spiritual awakening. Emerging from flowing water and botanical forms, the human figure becomes part of a living landscape where nature reflects inner experience.
